The oak condominium towers will be built on land next to one of the most iconic buildings in Cambridge, and the land will be the home to one the world’s most expensive condominium complexes.
The $2 billion complex will house 1,500 luxury apartments, with a market value of $1.3 billion, according to real estate company Cushman & Murray.
The complex will also include a 1,000-room hotel, a two-storey office tower, a 1.6-acre garden, a 3,000 square-foot community garden, and a 4,000 bus stop.
The developer is building the complex on land that is also home to a number of luxury properties including the Hyde Park Inn and the Hyde Hills Apartments, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
The condominium project will also provide a large area of undeveloped public space, according the Cambridge Condominium Authority.
The Cambridge Cond, is located at 1651 Oxford Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139.
It will consist of a total of 6,000 units and is scheduled to open in 2020.
