This week’s installment of The Sports Bible series previews the 2018-2019 season for the Chicago Cubs.
We’ll begin with the Oakland Athletics.
The Athletics are currently on a three-game winning streak and sit atop the AL Central, with a 3-0 record over the past three weeks.
Chicago sits second in the AL West, tied for third in the NL Central, and have won all three of their games against the Oakland A’s this season.
The A’s are currently tied for first in the Pacific Division and lead the NL West by a single game over the Dodgers.
Oakland has won six of its past seven games, and the Cubs will have to overcome the Athletics at Comerica Park in Los Angeles on Friday (7:15 p.m.
The Athletics lead the AL East by one game, but the Cubs are tied for second in their division and have lost two of their past three.
The Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a five-game road trip with games against Minnesota, Washington and San Francisco.
In a best-case scenario, the Cubs should have an excellent start to the trip, which includes a home game against Colorado.
The Cubs will play the first of two two games against Colorado on Thursday (7 p.p.m., Fox Sports Midwest) and Saturday (7,30 p.n., FOX Sports Midwest).
The Cubs visit Colorado on Monday (7 and 10 p.s., FOX) and then face the Dodgers in Los the following day (8 p.o., Fox).
Chicago is also set to face the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday (8 and 10:30 p., FOX).
