Arlington Oaks condominium in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is set to be destroyed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) as it is under construction on a large scale.
According to a press release, MMRDA has issued an order for demolition of the condominium, which is situated in the area of a former Birla Industrial Centre in the city.
It is to be completely demolished on June 5.
The project was completed in 2016.
The condominium will be demolished as part of the MMR’s plan to build large scale apartment buildings on an industrial site in the suburb of Alipore, said MMR chairman Dinesh Gupta.
The MMR is also planning to build a large-scale industrial development in the same area.
The MMR has been in talks with developers of a number of other condominium projects in Mumbai.
MMR officials say the development will take two years to complete.
